Payton McFall's 2020 Toyota GR Supra

Hey Payton. Would you tell us a little about yourself.
I’m Payton McFall - proudly from Killeen, Texas. I’m a big fan of cars, especially anything to do with the auto performance industry, and I’m working hard to make my mark in that world. By day, I work at a local game room where I not only enjoy the excitement of live gaming but also sharpen my customer service skills, ensuring every visitor gets the help they need and that the environment stays neat and organized. By night, you can catch me streaming on Twitch, sharing my passion for gaming and cars with an enthusiastic community.
We heard that you are passionate about cars. Can you give us the story on your car and why you bought it?
I've always been captivated by Supras. When Toyota unveiled the new GR Supra, I'll admit I was initially skeptical. The BMW collaboration raised eyebrows, but as time passed, the car's design and performance began to win me over.
It wasn't until a close friend of mine took the plunge and bought one that I truly fell in love. Seeing it up close, hearing that distinctive engine note, and experiencing its performance firsthand – I knew I had to have one. So, I made the leap and purchased a 2022 Supra 3.0 Premium. The car was everything I hoped for – sleek, powerful, and a joy to drive.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans. My beloved Supra was involved in an accident and declared a total loss. It was heartbreaking, but it also presented an opportunity. With the insurance payout, I decided to take a different approach. I set my sights on a 2020 model, knowing it offered greater potential for customization and personalization.
The 2020 Supra has proven to be an even better fit for my automotive passion. I've always enjoyed the process of making a car truly my own, and this Supra has given me that chance. It's not just a replacement for my lost 2022 model – it's an upgrade. It's a canvas for my automotive dreams, allowing me to create a truly personalized driving experience.
Every aspect of this car, from its design to its performance, resonates with me. It's more than just a car now; it's a project that continues to evolve, keeping the spirit of the Supra alive in a way that reflects my passion for performance and customization.

Have you had any challenges with the build?
The biggest challenge for me was bouncing back after losing my first Supra. Not only was it an emotional setback, but the entire process—from dealing with the insurance claim to finding a replacement—was a steep uphill battle. Once I finally had the funds, I was faced with a fiercely competitive market. I would stumble upon some incredible deals on Supras, but every time, they seemed to sell out before I could pull everything together. It felt like I was constantly chasing a moving target.
The whole experience taught me a lot about patience and persistence. I had to learn how to navigate unexpected delays and develop a sharper sense of timing to seize the right opportunity. Even though it was frustrating at times, those hurdles have made the journey all the more rewarding, pushing me to refine not just my build, but also my approach to every challenge in the world of auto performance.

Your build journey is truly inspiring, and it sounds like everything is coming together perfectly. Any future plans or goals you have in mind for your Supra?
Right now, I'm really happy with how the Supra is performing, but I definitely have some exciting plans down the road. In the future, I'm considering adding a widebody kit to give it a more aggressive stance and enhance its performance by accommodating wider tires for better grip. I’m also looking into converting the suspension to an air suspension system, which would allow for customizable ride height and a smoother driving experience.
And to top it all off, I’m eager to get the car wrapped. The first time I saw a midnight purple widebody Supra, I was completely captivated by how the deep, rich hue highlighted every curve and detail of the car. That color isn’t just about standing out; it embodies a sense of mystery and sophistication that perfectly complements the aggressive lines of a widebody design. I can already envision how a professionally applied wrap in midnight purple would transform my ride, giving it a bold and unique identity while preserving the original design integrity.
As we near the end of our conversation, is there anyone in particular you'd like to acknowledge or thank? Additionally, do you have any final insights or messages you'd like to share with our viewers about your journey?
I’d like to give a big thanks to my friend McKenna, @moopra3.0 on Instagram, for inspiring me to take the leap and get a Supra. Seeing her passion for the platform and the way she built his own car really motivated me to start my own journey. Without that influence, I might not have ended up where I am today with a build I truly love.
To everyone out there, no matter where you start, if you want something badly enough, you have the power to make it happen. Life will throw challenges your way, but with determination, hard work, and the right support system, you can overcome any obstacle.
